Flirting with Forty Can Be a Tough Job
Flirting with forty is something no man or woman can avoid as age is not something humans can control. Therefore the best way to flirt with forty is to accept your age and act accordingly. So why is it such a tough job for most people then? This is because, at the age of forty both your brain and your body have grown considerably older and there are several changes occurring in your day to day life as a result. These changes are different for men and women, and so flirting with forty isn’t similar for both.
Flirting with Forty for Men:
Problems: Your body and brain change, develop and finally wear with time. Thus, when a man is forty, his brain and body are completely developed. However, various diseases start to affect the body at this time and the brain too slowly loses it earlier functioning capacity. This can be extremely hard to deal with as people start to feel the sign of growing old.
The main problem in a man’s life when he is forty is that along with the other problems, his sexual capacity starts to decrease as well. The secretion of hormones like testosterone, androgen etc that are responsible for a man’s sexuality and sexual capacity start to decrease which in turn makes a forty year old man feel he is losing his manhood. Most men react badly to these feelings.
Reactions: Most men flirting with forty try to prove to the world that everything is still the same and that their body still functions like it used to when he was in his twenties. Men usually show two types of reactions to the changes they are forced to face.
- Some men distract themselves from these problems and worries by concentrating and completely absorbing themselves into their career, hobbies or sports. However, their subconscious never lets go of these thoughts and so the tendency to prove that their sexual ability is unchanged, remains.
- Some men, unable to get over these changes, try to mend their damaged self-confidence by chasing women who are much younger than them. Having multiple sexual partners assures them that they are still sexually capable and desirable and that they are making the most of the remaining time before they lose all impulse.
Are there any exceptions: All men feel attracted to other women irrespective of the love they have for their wives or partners. While flirting with forty, most men give in to these attractions. While there are a few who hide or suppress these impulses, most act on them and try to look and behave younger than their age. Being with younger women is also a part of this process.
Flirting with Forty for Women:
Problems: Women are gifted with the ability to give birth, to allow the human race to sustain and flourish. It is this ability and fertility that makes women feel special and makes men desire them. But sometime between 45 and 55, women start to lose this ability and this takes a toll on their minds and lives. The secretion of hormones like progesterone and oestrogen starts decreasing and as a result women flirting with forty have to fight with problems like menopause and hormone-related physical and emotional changes.
Anger, emotional instability, insecurity, depression, loss of self-confidence etc are all results of these hormonal changes. Women living through this phase often tend to feel that their partners are neglecting them or not appreciating enough.
Reactions: These feelings of discontent often encourage women to try and undergo makeovers and look younger and more attractive. They also tend to behave younger than their age in order to lead the world to believe that they are younger than their actual age. Women often lose their ability to judge and assess situations around the age of forty.
However, the loss of fertility does not affect a woman’s sexual feelings and impulses. They tend to open up more to sex and the fear of unwanted pregnancy is abolished. However, unlike men, women flirting with forty attempt to connect both emotionally and physically with a partner.
Even though forty sounds like a tough time, flirting with forty is not so hard if you keep your mind and body fresh and fit with exercise and relaxation.
